For founders and executives

Most of what you own is tied to one company. The plan should be built around that, and around the life you want after it.

One plan for you and the company: the shares, the options, the income and the years after, coordinated with the attorney, CPA and banker who advise the business.

How we work

What you bring us

The business and the personal plan are often run apart. These are the places where they meet.

One asset, most of the wealth

Shares, options or restricted stock in one company: real value, concentrated, moving on news you do not control.

When to sell, and how

Room to plan narrows once a sale is agreed. Trusts come first, §1202 eligibility for small-business stock is checked early, and for an executive a 10b5-1 plan sets sales in advance.

Who you are after

The company gives the week its shape. A plan for the proceeds aims to come with a plan for the time.

What working together looks like

The same four phases, with the business in the room at every one.

Common questions

Earlier than feels necessary. §1202 depends on how and when the shares were issued and how long they have been held, so it is checked years ahead, and moving shares into trust is best considered before a buyer is found. Starting years ahead leaves room to choose.
